Hot Tub Watch

Track your hot tub sessions with Apple Watch

by Imperia Middleware

About the App

Hot Tub Watch is a paired iOS and watchOS app for tracking hot tub sessions. Your Apple Watch records the workout — heart rate, water temperature, underwater depth, and calories — using HealthKit and CoreMotion water submersion sensors. The iPhone companion app displays your session history with charts and statistics.

All workout and sensor data is stored as standard HealthKit samples on your device. The app does not maintain its own database.

Requirements

iPhone with iOS 26.2 or later
Apple Watch with water submersion sensors (shallow depth entitlement, ≤6 m)
HealthKit authorization must be granted during onboarding
In-app disclaimer must be accepted on iPhone before use

Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 — Effective March 3, 2026

Overview

Hot Tub Watch ("the App") is developed and maintained by Imperia Middleware, Inc. ("the Developer"). The App tracks hot tub sessions as workouts using Apple Watch sensors and saves workout data to Apple HealthKit. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data Collection and Use

The App does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data with the Developer or any third party. All data processed by the App remains entirely on your device and within your personal Apple HealthKit database, which may sync to your other devices via your private iCloud account as configured by you.

HealthKit Data

The App requests read and write access to the following Apple HealthKit data types. Each is used solely for the core functionality of the App as described below:

Heart Rate. Written to HealthKit during an active hot tub session to record your heart rate as part of the workout. Read from HealthKit to display heart rate data in the session history on the companion iPhone app.

Active Energy Burned. Written to HealthKit during an active session to record estimated calories expended. Read from HealthKit to display calorie totals in the session history.

Water Temperature. Written to HealthKit during an active session to record the water temperature measured by the Apple Watch sensor. Read from HealthKit to display temperature data in the session history.

Underwater Depth. Written to HealthKit during an active session to record the submersion depth measured by the Apple Watch sensor. Read from HealthKit to display depth data in the session history.

Workouts. Written to HealthKit to save each completed hot tub session as a workout record. Read from HealthKit to retrieve and display your past hot tub sessions in the companion iPhone app.

No Additional Data

The App does not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or any other device capabilities beyond HealthKit and the Apple Watch water submersion sensors (CoreMotion). The App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks. The App does not use cookies or web-based tracking of any kind.

Data Retention

Because the Developer never receives your data, there is nothing to retain or delete on the Developer's end. Your workout data is stored in Apple HealthKit on your device. You may delete any workout or health sample at any time through the Apple Health app. Uninstalling Hot Tub Watch does not automatically delete your previously saved HealthKit data; you may remove it manually through the Apple Health app if desired.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at the same URL and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Important Disclaimer

Device Risk: Apple does not rate Apple Watch for prolonged submersion in hot water. Hot tub use may accelerate degradation of water resistance seals and may void your warranty. Use of your Apple Watch in a hot tub is entirely at your own risk.

Health Risk: Hot tub use carries inherent risks including but not limited to dehydration, heat exhaustion, cardiovascular stress, loss of consciousness, and drowning. Individual risk factors — including medical conditions, medications, alcohol consumption, pregnancy, and age — may significantly increase these dangers. You should consult your physician before using a hot tub. Never use a hot tub alone. Never allow children unsupervised access to a hot tub.

If you feel dizzy, nauseous, faint, or unwell at any time, exit the hot tub immediately.

Sensor Disclaimer: This app is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, safety guidance, or health recommendations. Water temperature, depth, heart rate, and calorie readings are sensor-derived estimates that may be inaccurate. Do not rely on any data displayed by this app for health or safety decisions. The session timer is a user convenience only and does not represent a recommendation regarding safe duration of hot tub use.

This app does not address physical safety requirements for hot tubs or spas, including barriers, covers, locks, or compliance with applicable local or state safety ordinances. Users are solely responsible for maintaining a safe hot tub environment.

Assumption of Risk: By using this app, you acknowledge that hot tub use involves inherent risks, that you are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of others in your care, and that the developers of Hot Tub Watch assume no liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from hot tub use or reliance on data provided by this app.
